About Us

The Airport Trail Access Committee (ATAC) was formed by Community & Business Associations who are very concerned about the removal of the Airport Trail East Side Access Tunnel from the Calgary Transportation Plan by the City Administration and the Calgary Airport Authority. These representative groups feel strongly that if the Plan goes forward without the tunnel access, that the quality of life, economic well-being, and transportation network will suffer significantly for many Calgarians. The Airport Tunnel will provide much needed access for residents, businesses serving the Airport, and for emergency services. Without this access, the Airport is less accessible, more expensive to serve by local businesses, and many commuters will be impacted negatively, regardless of whether they are travelling to and from the Airport.

ATAC has been formed to educate the public of these impacts, and to assist in ensuring the original Transportation Plan which included the Tunnel, is adapted by those responsible for our transportation network. We need your help in communicating with Mayor Bronconnier (themayor@calgary.ca), Calgary Aldermen, (alderweb@calgary.ca), the Airport Authority (yyc2014@yyc.com), and your local MLA and MP.
